Hand-forged · Northern Thailand · Made to order
A ceremonial silver wedding cutting set. Made once, by hand, for a single moment — and a lifetime thereafter.
The moment
Before the speeches. Before the dancing. There is a moment when two people face each other and make the first act of their marriage together.
It is not a gesture. It is not a photograph. It is the first time they do something as one.
The tools that mark that moment should be worthy of it.
“A ceremony is made of gestures. The objects that carry those gestures become part of the memory itself.”
What is included

Cake Slicer
Hand-forged from raw silver. The blade shaped and finished entirely by hand. Weighted for intention — not for function alone.

Cake Lifter
Companion to the slicer. Identical process. Each tool is distinct and complete — together they form a single object of ceremony.

Presentation Chest
A silk-lined chest. The set rests within it before the wedding and returns to it after — for storage, for display, for passing on.

Crafted slowly
The set is forged in a village in northern Thailand where silversmithing has been practised for generations. There is no factory. There is no production line.
“You cannot rush silver that is shaped by hand.”

Made to order
There is no stock. There is no warehouse. When an order is placed, the silversmith begins. The process takes weeks — shaping, hammering, polishing — and the result is a set that belongs to one couple alone.
3–6
Weeks production time
We recommend ordering at least 8–10 weeks before the wedding date. Production cannot be accelerated.
Presentation
The set is housed in a silk-lined hardwood presentation chest. Both tools rest within it — separated, protected, displayed.
The chest is not packaging. It is the first home of the set, and its permanent home thereafter. After the wedding, the set returns to it.
When the couple’s children are married, the chest comes with them.

Substantial by design
The set is forged from solid silver. It is not plated. It is not hollow. It has the weight of a made object — one that is meant to last, and to be noticed when held.
The alloy is chosen for its exceptional brightness and durability — requiring minimal polishing over time, and retaining its quality across generations.

Not kitchenware
Most wedding cutting sets are used once and forgotten. The First Cut Set is made to be remembered — by the couple, and by the people who gave it. It will occupy a place in a home. It will be brought out on anniversaries. It will eventually move to the next generation.
This is not kitchenware. It is a family object.
Optional add-on
A printed presentation card can be included with the chest — bearing the names of the couple and their wedding date. Printed on cotton stock. It rests within the lid.
This is the only addition to the set. There are no other options.
